w-8\"><strong>BD<\/strong>, one of the world&#8217;s largest medical technology companies, <strong>faced a critical challenge in one of its production processes: the internal cleaning of vacuum transfer conduits <\/strong>used to transport manufactured material between different areas of the plant.<\/div><div class=\"relative p-1 rounded-sm flex items-center justify-center bg-token-main-surface-primary text-token-text-primary h-8 w-8\">With continued use, <strong>dust accumulated inside these ducts and had to be removed to comply with strict pharmaceutical industry regulations and the company&#8217;s high internal hygiene <\/strong>standards.<\/div><div> <\/div><div class=\"relative p-1 rounded-sm flex items-center justify-center bg-token-main-surface-primary text-token-text-primary h-8 w-8\"><strong>The manual methods available were insufficient:<\/strong><br>&#8211; <strong>Cleaning the interior <\/strong>was practically<strong> impossible<\/strong>.<br>&#8211; It involved <strong>production stoppages<\/strong>, <strong>dismantling ducts<\/strong> or periodic replacement with<strong> new units<\/strong>.<br>&#8211; The<strong> process was slow<\/strong>, costly and carried a <strong>risk of cross-contamination<\/strong>.<\/div><div> <\/div><div class=\"relative p-1 rounded-sm flex items-center justify-center bg-token-main-surface-primary text-token-text-primary h-8 w-8\"><strong>BD<\/strong> also <strong>needed the inside of the ducts to be not only clean, but also disinfected<\/strong>, applying alcohol in a specific proportion during cleaning and removing any residue with a certified cloth that left no traces.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The solution<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eadc773 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eadc773\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>ICS analysed the process and designed a robotic solution<\/strong> specifically tailored to BD&#8217;s needs.<br>The project consisted of <strong>developing a pipe brushing robot<\/strong> capable of:<\/p><p><strong>1. Brush the inside of the duct.<\/strong><br>&#8211; Custom-designed brushing head.<br>&#8211; Hose of sufficient length to reach the duct without dismantling it.<br>&#8211; Adjusted force and speed to remove dust without damaging the surface.<\/p><p><strong>2. Spray alcohol during brushing.<\/strong><br>&#8211; Integrated spraying system with density and flow rate set by BD.<br>&#8211; Simultaneous disinfection during the brushing process.<\/p><p><strong>3. Perform a double pass with a certified cloth.<\/strong><br>&#8211; Quick change of the head after brushing.<br>&#8211; The cloth removes any residue or moisture without leaving fibres or fluff behind.<br>&#8211; The duct is completely clean, dry, and disinfected.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-40ff7ef elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"40ff7ef\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div or replacement of <br>pipes.<br>&#8211;<strong> Increased productivity <\/strong>and process efficiency.<br>&#8211; Longer service life of pipes.<br>&#8211; <strong>Safer, faster and fully
